Collision of two freight trains in the Port of Rotterdam
We have just been informed, that two freight trains (no IMS trains are directly involved) collided in the Rotterdam port area. In case of such kind of emergencies, the electricity has to be completely turned off. Due to this emergency measure the entire goods traffic by rail is now ceased.
All IMS trains that are now in this sector are therefore blocked too.
We do not have further information about other measures that will be taken or about how long the situation will last. We will of course keeping you posted about any changes of the situation as soon as we get updates. Due to the first information the results this incident may lead to major delays, which
may last until the upcoming Sunday.
Possibly affected IMS trains (Rhine Shuttle Basel and Rhine Shuttle Zurich):
Ex Rotterdam: Loadings of this weekend for the arrivals Frenkendorf on the 17th and Rekingen on the
16th as well as the respective trains back to Rotterdam.
Ex Switzerland: train from Frenkendorf of Friday April 13 with unloading Rotterdam Saturday/Sunday,
