Start of the new “Rhine-Shuttle Zurich”
As announced with our commercial news No. 014 of April 4 the new direct train connection “Rhein-Shuttle Zurich”, running between Rotterdam and Rekingen CT (v.v.) will be initiated on April 16, 2012. With the initiation of this new direct train, the conditions on the affected relations Rotterdam – Rekingen CT and Rotterdam – Niederglatt CT will be adapted to the new situation.
“Rhine-Shuttle Zurich”
Thanks to the new direct train connection, not only the transit times can be considerably reduced (Rotterdam – Rekingen: A - B), but also the firmness of the schedule. This is especially an improvement on the scheduling of your export consignments vessels closings. Possible incertitude concerning the “catching” of the vessels closing should be part of the past now, except from major force cases.
Besides the better scheduling quality we provide with the new shuttle concept, there is as well an advantage concerning the expense situation compared with today’s situation. As a matter of course, IMS RAIL Switzerland will be forwarding these advantages to ist customers.
Rotterdam - Niederglatt
By launching the new direct connection „Rhein – Shuttle – Zürich“ the demand for long distance traffic from/ to Niederglatt CT will be considerably relocated to he terminal Rekingen. Therefore there will be a lot more capacity (on rail and road) for the pure “depot business” as well as for the on off rail carriage (for empty units) with Niederglatt in the future. We will also be adapting our Rotterdam – Niederglatt rates, as per April 16 2012. With the now newly available direct connection “Rhine-Shuttle Zurich” the operationally highly complex “splitted” traffic from/to Niederglatt will be calculated cost-effective.
