Announced warning strike at the Hamburg and Bremerhaven container terminals from 17.08.-18.08.2026
Against the backdrop of ongoing collective bargaining negotiations, the service sector union ver.di has called for a warning strike involving employees of port companies in Hamburg and Bremerhaven that are subject to collective agreements.
This strike has been announced on short notice for the period from 17.08.2026 22:00 until 18.08.2026 22:00.
The affected facilities include terminals in Hamburg (EUROGATE, HHLA CTA, and Burchardkai) and Bremerhaven (CTB and NTB).
Due to the anticipated work stoppages, significant disruptions to container terminal operations are to be expected. We ask for your understanding that we must pass on any resulting additional costs, such as those for missed shipments and waiting times.
