Rhine Shuttle Rotterdam – Switzerland v.v.
Please find below various information concerning the Rhine-Shuttle
- Due to rising volumes we are trying to cope with this situation by running special trains. Only the resources concerning engines, drivers and wagons is pretty tense at the moment.
However, we made it possible to run a special train on Monday July 4. ETA Frenkendorf on Tuesday July 5 in the afternoon in order to diminish the booking-tailback.
- Due to heavy thunderstorms in the Netherlands yesterday (storm, lightning strikes) working processes on ships and trains had to be partially interrupted. Trees have fallen on the tracks obstructing a flawless rail traffic. Delays from/to Rotterdam have to be expected.
- During the month of August 2011 major construction works on the main line between Rotterdam and Switzerland (line section between Karlsruhe and Basel) will take place. Train traffic will be strongly encumbered and limited.
In collaboration with our railway partners we are trying to find solutions in order to avoid delays or at least to keep potential delays as small as possible.
For this matter we will keep you posted by separate Mail as well later on.
- Train from Rotterdam of July 30 will not arrive at Frenkendorf terminal on Monday August 1st (Swiss national holiday), but on Tuesday, August 2nd.
