Storm warning Hamburg/Bremerhaven - Update 2
As you can see also in the media, the hurricane "Xaver" has hit hard the north of Germany.
For our rail traffic , this means the trains of the entire network are stopped. Some trains are still in Bremerhaven or Hamburg in the terminals and wait for completion of loading.
Some trains are indeed ready loaded, but can not leave because of rail closures due to fallen trees and torn down on overhead lines .
According to current knowledge, the terminals do not work in Bremerhaven because of the storm .
In Hamburg, the CTA has been evacuated because of flood hazard.
On EKOM 3 cranes failed and this terminal is not working.
On Burchardkai in Hamburg all works were also stopped.
The entire port operation in Bremerhaven and Hamburg is currently very limited and also came in part to a complete disrupt .
Therefore, it is unfortunately continue to delays in train traffic and the handling at the terminals.
A forecast when the "normal" operation will
be restored is currently not possible.
